Extendable dining tables are becoming increasingly popular as homeowners look to declutter their homes and prioritise blank and open space over areas packed with large furnishings. Read more…
This Habitat Lincoln dining table is made from a combination of solid oak and oak veneers to create a finish which is both aesthetically pleasing and lightweight and easy to manoeuvre – the latter detail being particularly important given the flexibility of this design.
The table, which is made with a square surface in its smaller configuration, can seat four diners – stretching up to eight diners when the table surface is unfolded to double in size.
When the surface changes from a square to a rectangular shape, it can be shifted to ensure a more even distribution of weight across the base frame – supporting multiple diners and their meals.
From a design perspective, the beauty of this table lies in its simplicity and presentation as a blank canvas.
The table surface boasts a border with wood grain which runs in one direction, holding planks which run in the opposite direction.
The square edges are offset by the rounded table legs holding the surface in place, while the hinges across the centre add to the design.
All you need to do is add your perfect table linen and you’re ready for your next dinner party.
